Microsoft 365 family install#
The components of the software are licensed as a single unit, and you may not separate or virtualize the components and install them on different devices. The service/software may not be used for commercial, non-profit, or revenue-generating activities. Except as permitted under Section 1.a(i) above, only one person at a time may use the service/software on each device. There are perfectly sound reasons for the company not allowing you to, mainly to ensure that you are not introducing unsupported configurations that cost them more money when issues arise, even whenĪlso the licence for Microsoft 365 Family explicitly doesn't allow you to use it for commercial activities: Company laptop so unless you have explicit permission you will not be allowed to install anything that is not bought by the company. I'll probably use LibreOffice (we're allowed to install opensource and freeware apps like Visual Studio code, etc) as a workaround and will ask IT department for a desktop version of outlook/word/excel in the future. Then there could be another separate issue. But since it is a "Volume Licensing" edition. The "Professional Plus" 2019 it is always found really cheap. Only "Home and Business" / "Professional" / "Professional Plus" and the Business 365 Subscriptions can be used.

Update: OK it seems the Family and Personal office should not be used for commercial / business use.

Microsoft 365 family 64 Bit#
(Basically: Log into with my Microsoft account -> install office 64 bit -> open it -> "sign in with different account" (not my Windows Domain account) -> log in with my personal Microsoft account -> Activate -> done -> And then use Word/Outlook/Excel 365 desktop versions) Is it possible (from a legally point of view) to install desktop Office using my personal account ( and subscription ) in this Windows 10 laptop that has already domain windows user? Or that could be a problem? I have my own Office 365 family subscription which I renew every year (and I have 5 slots, so slots to spare). However, the company has a "web" office license with Microsoft that doesn't include Desktop office apps, unfortunately.

My company gave me a laptop (I have admin rights).
